Proposed 2026-27 WASH Grant - 10 more wells in Malawi

All of the partners in the current 5-well WASH grant--Downers Grove Rotary Club, the Blantyre Rotary Club, and VIP--have indicated a desire to initiate another WASH global grant for 2026-27. This grant will be similar to the current grant, but twice the size: Ten Wells, in up to ten villages. VIP is confident in their staff's ability to coordinate the drilling of 10 wells in a single dry season.

Context

Since 2021, Rotary and Villages In Partnership have worked together to drill 9 wells in Malawi, with another 5 on the way.

Villages in Partnership (VIP) is in the midst of implementing their 3-Year Vision, which includes expanding their reach by 50% to 15 new villages. At least 20 new wells and water points are expected to be needed in those villages.
