About Us

  • Water for Malawi is dedicated to improving the living standards of the poorest village people in Malawi, Africa through raising funds, of which approximately 98% go to building wells.
  • It all began in 2001 when one of our members visited Malawi and saw the poverty of this third world African country. Many of its villages were still without the basic amenity of clean water - which we take for granted. The Malawi government is providing wells but simply is not wealthy enough to provide the tens of thousands of wells still needed.
  • We are a small Perth based DOC (previously DOCEP) registered charity run by a committee of five volunteers.
  • To date we have been responsible for building 41 wells.
  • If you have any questions you can email us at:

We currently partner with Marion Medical Mission, a charity based in the USA with extensive operations in Malawi. They have a similar ethos to helping those in need as well as minimizing administrative costs to maximize the number of wells we can build.

In partnering with them we are able to build wells in an extremely cost effective way.
