About Water for Malawi

Water for Malawi is dedicated to improving the living standards of the poorest village people in Malawi, Africa through raising funds and building wells.

It all began in 2001 when one of our members visited Malawi and saw the poverty of this developing African country. Many of its villages were still without the basic amenity of clean water - something we take for granted. The Malawi Government is providing wells, but is simply not wealthy enough to provide the tens of thousands that are needed.

We are a small Perth based DOCEP registered charity run by a committee of five volunteers.

To date we have been responsible for building over 100 wells

We currently partner with Marion Medical Mission, a charity based in the USA with extensive operations in Malawi. They have a similar ethos to helping those in need and this arrangement allows us to minimise costs to maximize the number of wells we can build.  In partnering with them we are able to build wells in an efficient and extremely cost effective way.
